![]() ![]() You only need to track your food for four weeks during the Micros Masterclass to ‘calibrate’ and become familiar with the quantities of foods that are most optimal for you. Will I Need to Track My Food After the Challenge?Īlthough we utilise food tracking to guide you through the challenges, we are massive advocates for building sustainable habits that minimise the need for tracking. That’s why tracking the weight of every morsel of food to restrict calories intentionally becomes largely irrelevant. Nutrient-dense foods are super filling and hard to overeat. As you pay attention to food quality, food quantity looks after itself. If you’re looking to lose weight, the good news is the satiety value of your food will skyrocket as you dial in your nutrient density. But you will get good at estimating the portion sizes without relying on food scales before too long. Weighing your food can be helpful for a week or so if you’re eager. Greater accuracy is ideal, but not if it comes at the expense of feeling overwhelmed and giving up. While you will need to track your food during the four-week Micros Masterclass, you don’t need to weigh and measure everything precisely to succeed. While the paid version of Cronometer has some cool extra features, you won’t need them for the Micros Masterclass. ![]() Do I Need the Paid (Gold) Version of Cronometer? This data is critical to Nutrient Optimiser and enables it to recommend the best foods and meals for you to meet your macronutrient and micronutrient needs. If you want any additional info, opinions, or screenshots of usage, let me know.Join the Micros Masterclass now! Can I Use Another App to Track My Food?Ĭronometer is the only food tracking app that accurately tracks macronutrients and micronutrients. Cronometer is more in-depth and is more suited for those dedicated to their health and fitness while MFP is more suited to the average joe who doesn't mind just tracking the main needs. I've also found Cronometer to be more precise and my cut has gone significantly faster with it as opposed to MFP, which may be due to many reasons beyond app usage.Įither way, pick the one you'll use most. Cronometer only uses professionally sourced data and while they may not have the food you want to add, you can do custom foods which bridges the gap in my opinion. You may find MFP has a much larger database but it's also crowdsourced and you should be weary of bad or invalid (for a number of reasons) data. I'm a data oriented person so the micronutrient breakdown vibes with me heavily and I find myself adding way more veggies and fruits to my diet while MFP just had me focused on achieving my macros so I find I'm eating so much healthier with Chronometer. I used MFP for about a year or so and after a week of trying Chronometer, I bought a year's subscription and haven't looked back. They both do the same job and both have pros and cons. The app you're more likely to use is the app you should use. Other than the grouping thing I definitely prefer Chronometer and used MFP for almost 2 years. Also added a recipe and custom food from a local restaurant. I could do so in MFP but it does have limited Micro-nutrient information compared to Chronometer.Īll in all I'd say it's probably the better option overall but I'd give both a try since MFP does have more obscure food estimates even if they aren't exact like for King Taco or something.Įdit: I scanned the Stater Bros stuff and it does show up. I really like I can add my supplements like my Multi-Vitamin. I couldn't find my super market brand frozen veggies I used (Stater Bros Frozen Chopped Spinach or Stater Bros Frozen Brussels Sprouts) but I'll try scanning the bag when I get home. It doesn't group my foods by meal at least as the free version. No problem, I'll give it a chance to sync and worry about it later because it should work.Ĭhronometer has a paywall on probably the only feature that may be a deal breaker for me. Right now activity and weight etc is going into Chronometer but my calories aren't showing in Fitbit. I have a Fitbit and like that I can sync data from MFP. So I've downloaded Chronometer and have some first impressions. So I'm falling in the camp of I didn't explore other options.
